Hello and welcome to the real world: commutes, an outrageously priced lunchtime sandwich at your desk and – for working parents – probably an ongoing tussle between putting the hours in and keeping the nursery sweet. Time indeed is money, and stretching both can play havoc with best intentions of following a healthy AND tasty diet. This blog is inspired by creating sufficiently nutritious and flavourful meals that inspire me to cart them into work, along with some more indulgent eating at the weekend. Washed down with some decent wine preferably.
I don’t have a story, or a food journey, as such as I have always enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen and have eaten healthily. I have been vegetarian since I was old enough to stamp my foot as I’ve never liked meat or fish. It was no drama as my older siblings were vegetarian at the time; my parents grew their own vegetables. Helpfully my family loves cooking and baking and we were encouraged to create our own concoctions from an early age.
